My WIMSE Research Experience has been great so far. I’ve already learned so much. I am doing my internship in the Biology department with Dr. Fran James. So far I’ve been doing research that accompanies Dr. James research concerning long leaf pine restoration and red cockeyed woodpecker conservation.  Along with doing this research, I have also participated in an ecological study in the Apalachicola National Forest with someone from the Forestry Service that works with Dr. James.  I am looking forward to continuing this internship. Along with providing valuable experience, I know this internship will really help me in the future when I am applying to graduate schools and jobs.
